Government banned E-commerce companies to selling non essential products through their platform during the lock down period. Four days ago, the government. had allowed these companies to sell non-essential goods like mobile phones, refrigerators and stitched apparel, but now it was withdrawn. 

It should be notify that the lockdown has been extended till May 3. Issued an order during which non-essential goods have been aloof from the movement of products of e-commerce companies. In this, the sale of non-essential products by e-commerce companies has been aloof from the consolidated revised guidelines.Govt give an order on 15.4.2020 to E-commerce company that they can sell the non essential products from April 20. When asked why the government. took a U-turn, during this matter, Joint Secretary within the Ministry of Home Affairs, said that the case in (COVID-19) changes rapidly.

In such a situation, the government. must take decisions on a every day. He said that when the government. felt that its permission to sell non-essential goods through the e-commerce platform during lockdown wouldn't ensure its effective implementation ,the choice was reviewed and reversed. There will be a ban on the availability of non-essential goods. After this, some e-commerce companies started taking online orders. The reason for reversing this order isn't immediately known. But it's being said that retail traders also started pressuring them to allow them to start out selling non-essential items. Later on Sunday, the house Secretary wrote a letter to the chief secretaries of all states and union territories to clarify the case during this matter. He said within the letter, 'I want to form it clear that e-commerce companies won't be allowed to produce non-essential goods. They will be allowed to produce only essential items as before.
